J. GREG LOGAN, CPA, CITP

Managing Partner

Greg Logan graduated from the State University of West Georgia with a B.S. in Accounting in the summer of 2004 and was hired on with Marshall Jones shortly thereafter. He obtained his CPA license in the Winter of 2013 and his CITP in the Summer of 2016. Greg has demonstrated the ability to flourish in a constantly changing industry made possible in part through his proficiency with technology. He has been instrumental in helping the firm take advantage of technological resources to maximize the firm’s capacity and efficiency.

Greg currently oversees each team at Marshall Jones. He is focused on mentoring his team members to ensure services provided exceed expectations. Greg has a wide range of audit experiences and has worked with clients in real estate, construction, technology, distribution, government and non-for-profit industries.

Greg has three beautiful children. Greg contributes much of his time to his church family at Union Hill Church. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and camping with his family. Along with that, he enjoys playing video games with his daughters and cheering on the Atlanta sports teams!

DIANE GRANT, EA

Diane Grant is a dedicated and accomplished Tax Partner at Marshall Jones, contributing 38 years of expertise in accounting. With a fervent passion for excellence and innovation, she has played a pivotal role in Marshall Jones’ success since joining the team in 2018.

Diane holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Mercer University and has garnered valuable experience at industry leaders such as Dun & Bradstreet and S&P America. At S&P America, she ascended to the position of VP of US Field Finance, showcasing her exceptional skills and dedication to her work. Diane is a recipient of numerous awards recognizing her outstanding and top-notch performance at her previous companies.

As Tax Partner at Marshall Jones, Diane is a key player with a keen eye for detail. Since 2018, she has been instrumental in shaping the company’s success, handling crucial responsibilities in the realm of taxation. Diane’s dedication to excellence and innovation ensures she plays a vital role in the financial success of the company.

Beyond her professional achievements, you can find Diane out on the water catching rays off of her boat. Proudly rooted in the community of Jacksonville, Florida, Diane cherishes spending quality time with her husband and sons. Whether it’s navigating the waters or enjoying the vibrant community around her, Diane finds balance and joy in both her professional and personal pursuits.

Kristen Hendricks

Kristen joined Marshall Jones in August 2016, bringing with her more than a decade of client relations experience and a counseling degree from SUNY Alfred. She was initially hired to oversee office operations, but her strategic mindset and natural leadership quickly led to expanded responsibilities across human resources, internal operations, financial management, and marketing. Her impact in these areas earned her a promotion to partner in January 2019.

Today, Kristen leads the firm’s operational and business development efforts, working closely with each department to drive growth, improve efficiency, and strengthen team collaboration. Her ability to connect big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution continues to shape the firm’s direction and client experience.

Kristen also serves on the board of BrewAble, a nonprofit in Alpharetta, Georgia, that provides meaningful employment to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Outside the office, she enjoys cooking, traveling with her husband and daughters, and restoring and racing classic cars with her father.

Nathan Lummus, CPA

Audit Partner

Nathan joined the Marshall Jones team in 2007. He serves as the partner in charge of assurance services for the firm and is a member of the AICPA and GSCPA. As a critical part of the audit team, Nathan ensures that the audit is effectively planned, properly supervised, and executed with efficiency. Nathan prides himself in being extremely responsive to his clients and truly helping them to understand every step of the audit experience.

Nathan graduated from the University of West Georgia, where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a special emphasis in accounting, then in 2018,  he obtained a Master’s of Science of Accounting from Liberty University.

Nathan has been involved with church his entire life, and met his wife, Kelly, a victim advocate, in 1994 while serving at a backyard Bible school. Since then, he has served on many committees, and most recently served on the adoption ministry team at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia, a church that honors the ministries of adoption and orphan care. The call to adoption started in 2008, and Nathan and Kelly have four beautiful children.

Randy Shrum, CPA

Audit Partner

Randy joined Marshall Jones in 2020 as an Audit Partner. Prior to joining the firm, Randy was a Principal at Smith & Howard, Managing Director at Grant Thornton and a Principal at Frazier & Deeter. Randy is a quality client service provider with financial reporting expertise spanning over 25 years in public accounting with the bulk of his career focused on a large array of national and mid-size nonprofit, construction and manufacturing companies. His experience includes financial statement audits, implementation of new accounting standards, internal control assessment and improvement, governance and federal grant programs compliance. He has written and hosted several webinars on topics ranging from financial liquidity and cash forecasting to reputational risk and furthering engagement through creative use of social media.

Randy attended Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is active in the community at a professional and civic level, serving as Audit Committee Chair of the Cobb Community Foundation, Audit Committee member of Center for Family Resources, former President of the Board of Directors of Nicholas House, a former member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (GSCPA) Nonprofit Taskforce Committee and Peer Review Committee, and a board member of the GSCPA Educational Foundation. Randy is also a member of the GSCPA Leadership Council and Knights of Columbus.

Randy is married to his wife Kate, and their two boys attend the University of Georgia. Randy enjoys traveling and attending Atlanta Braves games.

Susan K Hopkins, CPA

Susan graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree in 1981 and received her CPA certification in 1984. She began her career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen. Over the course of her career, she has worked in both public accounting and private industry. She has extensive audit experience and hands on experience in industry as an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller. Susan has been in public accounting since 2006 and a member of the Marshall Jones team since 2010. She has a wide range of experience with individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profits in the areas of tax planning, tax strategy, tax return preparation, and IRS support. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children along with decorating her home and watching classic movies.

Alice Zhou Graduated from the Georgia State University with dual bachelors in Accounting and Finance. She became a part of Audit team at Marshall Jones in December 2019.  Prior to this job, she had experience working as a property accountant in a commercial real estate firm.  She prides herself on being a great team player, detailed analyst, and efficient in time management.  Alice enjoys  working  with people so she can use her knowledge to help others.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys cooking, hiking, and traveling with her family.  She travels out of the country every year to help her children learn about different cultures and to expand their minds.

Anna joined the accounting team at Marshall Jones in 2017 with over twenty years of accounting experience. She began her career working assisting restaurants, manufacturing and whole sale corporations. She spent a large part of her career working with a prominent law firm and managing their entire accounting. Anna excels in helping companies with their analytics and budgeting. She is client-focused and effectively assists companies with payroll, monthly bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, as well as corporate compliance.Outside of the office, Anna enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well as painting and reading.

Carmen graduated from San Jose State University in May 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. She recently moved from California with her fiance and Australian Cattle Dog, Mila. While attending school, she gained experience in the construction industry as Office Manager and Tax & Audit Intern with CliftonLarsonAllen in San Jose. She plans to continue her education and work towards CPA licensure within the next couple of years.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, and catching up on her favorite tv shows.

Carolina Guerilus is the Audit Administrator at Marshall Jones, where she supports the audit team through client coordination, engagement administration, and operational support. Her strong organizational skills and commitment to client service help ensure audit engagements are completed efficiently and effectively.

Carolina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University and brings more than five years of experience in the hospitality industry. Throughout her career, she has developed strong skills in customer service, operations, team collaboration, and financial management. In a previous role specializing in contract accounting, she gained valuable experience in financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and supporting business operations.

Committed to continued professional growth, Carolina is currently working toward becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Outside of work, Carolina serves as Social Media Manager for Rise and Walk Ministry, supporting outreach efforts and community engagement through digital communications. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring nature, and has a passion for cooking and trying new recipes. She also enjoys gathering with family and friends for game nights.

Charli joined the Marshall Jones team in 2022. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The University of Georgia in 2016 and has since been in several early childhood development roles, including center management. Ethan joined the Marshall Jones team in September 2021 working in the accounting department. Ethan brings with him seven years of experience in public accounting. He graduated cum laude from the University of North Georgia in 2016 with a B.B.A. in Accounting. He then went on to work for a CPA firm where he gained valuable experience in accounting, audit, and tax. Ethan gained his CPA credential in 2020.

In his free time, Ethan enjoys spending time with his wife. He is also an active member of a local church where he serves as a volunteer youth leader. Ethan also enjoys cheering on his Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Braves, spending time outdoors, and having a nicer lawn than his neighbors.

Jasmine Wilson joined the team at Marshall Jones in 2024 as an Audit Associate, bringing her dedication and expertise to our firm. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Jasmine recently relocated from Birmingham, Alabama, and has gained valuable experience as an Auditor in the governmental sector.

Currently pursuing her MBA at Auburn University at Montgomery, Jasmine is committed to further honing her skills and plans to obtain her CPA licensure within the next year. Her drive to excel in the accounting field is matched only by her enthusiasm for building strong professional relationships.

Outside the office, Jasmine enjoys spending quality time with her family, diving into captivating TV series, and exploring the great outdoors through hiking.

Jon Michelakos is an Accounting Associate at Marshall Jones, where he supports clients with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting services. He works closely with business owners and nonprofit organizations to promote accuracy, efficiency, and valuable insight in their day-to-day financial operations.

Jon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgia State University and began his career as a financial manager and full-charge bookkeeper for a local small business. He is also a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and watching hockey.

JULIE CHEN, CPA

Julie specializes in tax compliance and planning for corporations and individuals. She has over 15 years of experience working with clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, technology, restaurants and not for profit organizations. Prior to joining Marshall Jones and Company, Julie gained valuable experience at local Atlanta firms. Originally trained to be an engineer, Julie prefers working with people more than equipment, so she put her strong analytical and math skills to work as an accountant. Julie enjoys helping people understand their financial position and make good tax decisions. Julie likes music, ballroom dancing and traveling all over the world.

KARINA SOTO

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Karina is an Executive Assistant at Marshall Jones with over 20 years of experience spanning tax administration, office management, and corporate law. She brings a distinctive background to her role, having begun her career as an administrative associate in the corporate law department of a firm in Venezuela, supporting attorneys on corporate, commercial, and banking law matters. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Zulia and a Master’s degree in Spanish and European Union Law from the University of Alcalá in Madrid, Spain.

Since transitioning into tax administration in Atlanta in 2016, Karina has developed deep expertise in tax compliance, IRS correspondence, workflow optimization, and client relations within public accounting environments. She is a PTIN holder and is currently pursuing her Enrolled Agent (EA) designation. Karina is also bilingual in English and Spanish.

Outside of work, Karina is an avid reader and enjoys musical theatre and live music. She holds real estate licenses in both Georgia and Florida and has a passion for house flipping and home renovation projects.

Meet Kim, a seasoned Tax Administrator at Marshall Jones, contributing two decades of expertise across customer service, manufacturing, and hospitality. Possessing a natural inclination for continual learning, she is a linchpin in the success of Marshall Jones.

Kim embodies the essence of a team player, combining accountability with a discerning eye for effective communication, organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Her track record showcases a consistent dedication to meticulous work. Kim’s drive stems from her passion for facilitating client success. Committed to doing it right the first time, every time, and on time, she endeavors to create an environment where clients feel at ease and relaxed.

When not immersed in the world of tax administration, Kim can be found enjoying the outdoors with her dogs, delving into a good book, experimenting with baking, and indulging in theme park adventures. Lisa has been a part of the team at Marshall Jones since 2020. Her career in accounting started early on while still in high school and quickly she realized that accounting was the best career path for her. She has worked for many different companies and given the opportunity to learn and excel at various aspects of accounting as she worked her way up to a full charge bookkeeper. She has experience in retail, manufacturing, salons, general contracting and many more.

When not working, she lives for her two young grandsons. She will always jump at the opportunity to travel to Alabama to visit them.

Lisette joined the Marshall Jones team in January 2020. With over 10 years of customer service experience, she uses her unique experiences from living and being educated in New York and Arizona to bring professionalism and charisma to the newly created role of Administrative Assistant.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her fiance and fur babies, and entertaining her extended family.

Mallory joined the Marshall Jones team in June of 2020. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Augusta University. While in school, she was a member of the Women’s Track and Field Team, where she threw javelin and hammer. She also continued her education at Georgia Southern University, earning a Master of Accountancy in 2022. She also intends to obtain her CPA certification within the next year.

Mallory has 3 years of public accounting and auditing experience. Her experience includes working with various industries and client bases, including non-profit, construction, distribution, and employee benefit plans. She enjoys working with her clients to provide outstanding auditing services and to build meaningful, valuable relationships.

Mary Helen joined the team in 2018 and brought 15+ years of experience serving as an outsourced controller to individuals, small business entrepreneurs and small to moderate size companies in the real estate, construction and consulting areas. In her role at Marshall Jones, Mary Helen effectively and independently manages the cash flow, budgets, accounts payable and accounts receivable of multiple clients while maintaining accuracy and financial integrity of all accounting functions.

Prior to her work in accounting, Mary Helen held positions in human resources at a major Fortune 500 company as well as roles as a senior programmer analyst in IT. Outside of work, Mary Helen focuses her time on developing and enhancing her metal smith skills through adult education as well as through her fully equipped home studio.

MELANIE WHITWORTH, CPA

SENIOR TAX MANAGER

Melanie Whitworth has over 35 years of experience in accounting and taxation related to small businesses and individuals with a specialization in commercial and residential real estate development, construction and management. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama, she began her career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Atlanta., where she was a member of the family tax and estate planning team and served on the accounts of major southeastern real estate and development companies. In 1987, she joined Taylor & Mathis as Tax Manager and Chief Financial Analyst, a position she held for 10 years. In 1997, Melanie formed her own firm specializing in providing complex tax and financial analysis for developers, construction companies, real estate management companies, and high net worth individuals with substantial investments in real estate.

Melanie sold her firm in January 2015 and retired until 2018 when she joined Marshall Jones as a Senior Tax Manager. Melanie is responsible for a wide range of tax planning, projections, and compliance. Her analytical skills and strong attention to detail has proven to be a great asset when working with clients.

When not working, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

MONA PATEL, CPA

Mona Patel has over 20 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, specializing in corporations, partnerships, and individual returns. She works closely with healthcare companies, professional services firms—including real estate, consultants, and investment advisors—and individuals in these industries. With a proactive approach, Mona helps clients minimize tax liabilities and provides year-round consulting to support their financial goals.

Known for her exceptional client service, keen attention to detail, and quick response time, Mona is always looking for ways to help clients achieve both short- and long-term success.

Mona earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

NAMHEE JUNG, CPA

Namhee is a Tax Senior at Marshall Jones with over six years of experience in tax accounting. She has built a strong foundation in tax compliance across both public accounting and corporate environments, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the complex tax needs of businesses and individuals alike.

Prior to joining Marshall Jones, Namhee held senior tax roles in both public accounting and industry, where she managed tax compliance for large portfolios of partnership and corporate entities. She has extensive experience preparing federal, state, and local tax returns across a wide range of entity types, including C Corporations, S Corporations, and partnerships.

Namhee earned her Master of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University, State University of New York and holds her CPA license through the Virginia Board of Accountancy. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA).

Payal Agarwal joined the Marshall Jones team towards the end of 2018.

She moved from India and holds a Chartered Accountant Degree.

Prior to joining Marshall Jones and Company, Payal gained valuable experience at Ernst & Young, Bangalore, India. While working at EY, she was responsible for reviewing financial statements audits of various public and Private Companies of different sectors.

She has experience in providing assurance on financial statements and has strong analytical and issue identification skills. Payal plans to further her education in Audits and Accountancy Field by working towards her CPA designation.

While not at work, Payal enjoys spending time with her beautiful family. She has been married to her husband, Ankit, since 2018. Payal also enjoys playing games and watching Sitcoms during her free time.

SABINA LAM, CPA

Sabina Lam has more than 15 years of financial reporting, accounting, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger analysis experience. Prior to joining Marshall Jones, she served in senior financial positions from the controller to VP of Finance for various companies.

Sabina is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University and a Master of Accounting and Financial Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management

Sabina loves the outdoors and she is a car fanatic.

At Marshall Jones, Sarah works closely with the firm’s talented accounting team to provide exceptional services to nonprofit organizations and small businesses. Her unconventional path to becoming a CPA has given her a unique perspective and the ability to bridge the gap between technical accounting concepts and practical business needs. Sarah is passionate about educating and empowering non-accountant business owners and boards, helping them understand their financial statements and make informed decisions for their organizations. She takes pride in making complex accounting topics accessible and fostering confidence and knowledge in her clients and colleagues.

Outside the office, Sarah enjoys spending her weekends on her family’s farm in Canton, Georgia. Growing up on the farm instilled in her a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic, which she carries into her professional life. Whether it’s making hay in the summer, mending fences, or feeding cows in the winter, she embraces the changing seasons and the hands-on nature of farm life. In her free time, Sarah enjoys yard work, walking in the woods, and traveling. When she’s not on the farm, she loves exploring Atlanta’s vibrant food scene with friends and discovering new culinary experiences.

STEPHANIE LOWRY

Stephanie graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Finance. Over the next 6 years, she gained accounting experience working as an Office Manager in the IT field and received a promotion to Administrative Director. Feeling like she found her niche, she joined the Marshall Jones team in July 2023 as an Accounting Associate to further her knowledge and experience. She hopes to have a long fulfilling career in accounting. Her hobbies include puzzles, Legos, playing table top and video games with her husband, Garrett. They have two fur babies, Cleo & Quill. She loves all things Disney and leopard print.

TIMOTHY MATTACKAL

AUDIT MANAGER

Timothy joined Marshall Jones in May of 2022 after moving to the Atlanta area from Ohio. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance and subsequently worked for the Ohio Auditor of State for four years, including over a year as an Audit Manager. During this time, Timothy was able to build a wealth of experience performing and overseeing GAGAS audits for a wide variety of entities and conducting Federal single audits.

In his spare time, Timothy enjoys spending time with his wife Alex and his two cats, Bagheera and Mowgli, reading books and watching soccer and baseball.

Tya Noringhang joined Marshall Jones in September 2022 after moving back to the US from Singapore. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Maryland Global Campus while living abroad in Japan and Belgium as a military spouse. She brings 5 years of accounting experience through her work with a small business.

Outside of the office, she loves traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Joshua is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting at Clayton State University and is expected to graduate in Fall 2027. His long-term goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant and build a successful career in public accounting. Through his internship, he is excited to continue learning about the profession and gaining practical experience in both client service and technical accounting.

A dedicated student leader, Joshua serves as President of the Accounting Club at Clayton State University. He is also a recipient of a Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) scholarship, a Student Assistant at Clayton State, a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and a Gleim Campus Representative.

Outside of work and school, Joshua enjoys learning about business and finance, staying active through fitness and weight loss, hiking, and swimming. He is also an avid gamer, anime enthusiast, and self-proclaimed One Piece fanatic. When he has the opportunity, he enjoys catching up on some well-earned sleep.

LILA ROSS

Lila is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Georgia and is expected to graduate in 2029. She is interested in pursuing a career in audit and advisory services and is eager to continue developing her technical knowledge and professional skills through real-world experience.

At the University of Georgia, Lila is actively involved in Tri Delta and UGA Miracle, a student-led organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for children’s healthcare initiatives.

Outside of school and work, Lila enjoys working out, reading, watching reality television and sitcoms, and exploring her interest in interior design.

LOGAN SMITH

ACCOUNTING INTERN

Logan Smith is an Accounting Intern at Marshall Jones, where he is gaining hands-on experience and learning about the many facets of the accounting profession.

Logan is pursuing a degree in Accounting at Kennesaw State University and is a member of the Class of 2028. He is particularly interested in forensic accounting and is eager to explore the different areas of the profession while discovering how accounting can be used to help people and solve complex problems.

Outside of the classroom, Logan is an amateur powerlifter and state record holder. He also enjoys a wide range of hobbies, including blacksmithing, cooking, mechanic work, and studying quantum physics.

Through his internship at Marshall Jones, Logan looks forward to expanding his knowledge, developing new skills, and gaining valuable experience in the accounting field.

VIVIAN SMITH

Vivian is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and is expected to graduate in 2028. In addition to her accounting studies, she is earning a certificate in Artificial Intelligence, combining her interest in emerging technology with her future career in business. As she begins her accounting education, Vivian is excited to learn more about both tax and audit services and looks forward to building a career in public accounting by helping clients find practical solutions to complex challenges.

A dedicated student and emerging leader, Vivian has been recognized on the Dean’s List in both high school and college and is a recipient of the HOPE Scholarship. She has also participated in the Accounting Superstars Dinner and is involved with Women in Finance at the University of Georgia.

Outside of school and work, Vivian enjoys reading, baking, and exploring different cultures through food. She loves trying cuisines from around the world and is always eager to discover a new favorite dish.
